LMA Seven Principles
LMA Principle #5 Stop Being Pushed Around by Fear and Guilt. Fear and guilt/shame undermine more efforts to overcome addictions and compulsions than almost any other issue. Also, holding 'resentments' toward others is known as the #1 Offender by the 12-StepProgram (as in number one thing that leads to Relapse}; God will provide both help and hope with these problems. Read Romans 5: 1-2 "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our LordJesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice inhope of the glory of God."
Resentment is to ‘Re-feel’ a real or imagined wrong……if we think it is ‘true’ it is true to us…….dealing with ‘resentments’ and ‘guilt and shame’ are best handled ‘in Christ’…..(think about it….); ‘we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ’……. God provides the ‘help and hope’ to overcome……
2 Timothy 2:22 (TPT) Run as fast as you can from all the ambitions and lusts of youth; and chase after all that is pure. Whatever builds up your faith and deepens your love must become your holy pursuit. And live in peace with all those who worship our Lord Jesus with pure hearts. ‘Chase after all that is pure’…….let God deepen your love…..and live out this ‘faith’……Jesus is your ‘Faith’……grasp it and live the life you are meant to live….. Enough said…….
